At Abbots Taxis we are aware of the difficulties with trying to find wheelchair accessible vehicles in the Hertfordshire area. We decided to start a new taxi service because of this very reason, struggling to find wheelchair accessible vehicles for my mother in law. Our goal is to make it as easy and comfortable as possible for the disabled to travel with us. This is why all our vehicles are wheelchair accessible and the wheelchair user sits with the other passengers and not in the boot like many other taxi services! Check out our wheelchair accessible vehicles below, if you decide to use our services and you have wheelchair requirements then just let us know, we will be very happy to accommodate you.
The Ford Transit Custom is our large 8 seater vehicle with tail lift allowing easy access for wheelchair users.
This vehicle includes:
The Ford Custom Royale is our top of the line 8 seater wheelchair accessible vehicle. As can be seen in the images below, the wheelchair user will gain access to the vehicle through a ramp at the rear. The wheelchair user sits with the other passengers around them, unlike many wheelchair accessible vehicles where they are in the boot! Still space for luggage and plenty of leg room for all passengers.
The Vauxhall Vivaro is another wheelchair accessible vehicle we have in our fleet, the ramp on this taxi is on the side making it very easy to pick up wheelchair users from side of road. The wheelchair user is positioned alongside other passengers, allowing for four other passengers in the back of vehicle and two further passengers in the front. There is also lots of luggage space for airport transfers.
